Who We are

We are a St. Louis area non-profit group who believes that we can make a lasting impact on our city and the surrounding areas by planting trees and other plants. First and foremost, our goal is to to promote green living in our city, communities, and neighborhoods. We believe that planting green, growing, living vegetation for everyone to enjoy and benefit from is one way to make a positive, green impact and further our cause.

Why we do it

Trees and plants have amazing powers to heal our environment; they are essentially the lungs of our neighborhoods and communities. Trees filter huge amounts of toxins from the air we breath, removing harmful carbon dioxide from the air, replacing it with fresh, pure oxygen. Increased vegetation has been proven to greatly reduce the bad ozone levels in our atmosphere, vastly improving our respiratory health. The more greenery that is planted, the more urban run-off that is prevented, protecting the very soil that our city is built on. Trees reduce city noise pollution by absorbing sound and creating barriers. In addition, trees can provide shade to the acres of roadway and parking lot concrete, effectively reducing sweltering summertime temperatures.

Where we do it

Our non-profit organization can plant just about anywhere that has soil; if you can dream it, we can plant it! A shady arbor can be planted in your neighborhood common areas creating the perfect place for a picnic or family play. A leafy, living prayer garden can be a wonderful addition to your place of worship. Even a small bit of greenery can bring new life to your tired community recreation center. In addition, trees and other vegetation can be an engaging and moving way to create a memorial or a restful "peace park" for reflection, meditation, or prayer. We can even plant a personal oasis at your place of business or in your back yard. Really, the possibilities are limitless! It is our sincere hope that through our services we can bring about environmental renewal to St. Louis and the surrounding areas, and that in doing so we can bring a sense of pride, hope, and health to our communities. He who plants a tree plants a hope. - Lucy Larcom
